The MADP is exactly that, Medicare Advantage Disenrollment. Not PDP.

Are they QMB, SLMB, QI-1, LIS or anything? Any extra help at all?

No extra help... Soc Sec and pensions for both, although they are broke after their Rx bill.

It amazes me the number of Rx that these seniors are on... [over-medicated]. Surely they weren't on all these Rx prior to Med Part D. It would be interesting to see stats on what has transpired with healthcare costs, life span, etc since the inception of the generous Med Part D, aka most profitable event ever for big pharma. [curious].

I had a great day, like SN, my 1st appt was also at 10am today & I was there til 1, who doesnt enjoy those 1/2 day appts??

Best thing about it...walked out with NO app!! Again, who doesnt enjoy those even better?

After having to explain slowly what I was offering after all her stories & getting off topic....we needed to find her policies she already had. Then after finding those, they were for more (face amt) then she remembered, so I couldnt save her as much $$$ as I thought!

But she still wanted to go thru with it, saving her $11/mo & getting her $300+ in CV from 1 of them (didnt make sense to replace the other). So we decide to do that & turns out she has no bank acct....she was more distraught then I was that the insurance wouldnt accept her "walmart" card.

So we finally figured out a way to get around that & I start the app....but cause in my presentation all her answers to my health questions was no, I didnt think meds would be a problem (my fault, got lazy and didnt ask up front). Get her meds after all the app & questions are filled out...shes on Donepezil, DOOHH!!!

When I tell her whats that drug for (Alzheimers), she denies having it, says Dr never has mentioned it & shes gonna call & find out why? But shes distraught, i have to comfort her before i just walk out the door, I remind her she HAS insurance (WL) so theres no reason to be that upset. Anyways, finally I leave at 1pm....no app, no $$$!!

And to know after all that time u wasted on her, she forgot who u were right as u walked out that front door, yet she will be FOREVER etched in your memory!

I doubt that, if it were really bad, there's no way she'd be able to remember to go get her M.O.'s every month to pay her bills, inc her insurance, which she paid faithfully! Plus she lived on her own, apt was well kept....so Im sure she has it, but its not bad (yet)!

My last appointment the other day was a doozy. Immediately upon entering the home I ended up in the bedroom. I know this because..well..as soon as the door opened there was the bed. And IN the bed was the prospect, a heavyset woman who needed a walker, oxygen etc. And next to her..IN the bed..was her daughter looking at her laptop.

The bed dominated this dark small room..with waist high white plastic shelves squeezed on each side of it with all sorts of papers and stuff everywhere. At the foot of the bed was a plastic chair (for me?) and to the left of the chair a TV on a stand with a box of kitty litter on the floor, and to the right a little kitchen.

I sat at the foot of the bed..did my presentation, quotes, spread out the paperwork, took the apps...and they never left the bed. In fact, halfway through..the woman's second daughter entered the house/room with her daughter...and THEY GOT IN THE BED. Hell, there really was nowhere else to go.

As all of this is going on...three generations of family in a bed, kid playing in the kitty litter, and at the same time me selling insurance...I first thought to myself, no one would believe this. Then I thought, I have to get some higher net worth clients.

But that being said..they were good people, we had some laughs and I actually had a good time. And I made some money... all in a day's work.

So my started out hot!!! (In more ways than one) It's a tropical 60 degrees in Pittsburgh today and my first appointment was a nice 76 yr old lady who had her furnace on 90!!!

And then appointment number 2 had their fireplace roaring and husband and wife was chain smoking away! I think I lost 5 pounds and contracted lung cancer from second hand smoke.

I did manage to get 3 policies out of those 2 appointments though.
