How do the smaller companies work if your not out selling on foot like the duck. I would not mind going to a small local independent office, but how can you make more there?

Each has their own method(s) of marketing, and their own niche markets. You will make exactly what you want to make, by virtue of how much you put into it. Do a search on these topics as they have been well addressed in this forum. I think you will find something that appeals to you.

I think it all depends on the agent. There are agents out there doing it. There has to be a way to do it.

If you work you butt off anything can happen.

You could cold call going b2b on foot and killing yourself 25 hours a day, 8 days a week getting rejected by the receptionist, beat-up silly, sweaty and eventually get demoralized and quit. I lead-pipe-dead-cinch-lock-guarantee that Aflac's top producers are NOT doing this.

Or, you could form alliances and partnerships with group health producers who don't want to mess with it, but would like some of the action. They can refer you in on a favorable basis. That's the way the top producers do it.

A couple of well placed lunches are worth six months (maybe more) of b2b hot-footing...

Hard work, while necessary, is insufficient.

Think. Work smart.
