"The Kansas Insurance Commissioner announced that three health insurance companies, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, Coventry (a unit of Aetna Inc) and Blue Cross of Kansas City, will be selling between 50 and 60 qualified health plans on the Kansas health exchange when it opens for enrollment on October 1. These three companies already operate in Kansas and own the bulk of the market share."

"Kansas will not be expanding Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, which will most likely leave many residents who make up to 100 percent of the poverty level without healthcare coverage."
