kind of a funny story working FE

I was in the middle of rural Alabama at an appointment's house, when another dude pulled up behind me and started to walk up to her door.

I yelled, "HEY - what do you think you're doing?"

Scared him. But turns out I've been trading emails with him for the past year after finding my material.

You got lucky.. not everyone runs scared-especially when being yelled at by another man. But then again - you must not have been intimidated so I'm guessing he looked similar to you. Me-I would have answered..

no not al all. I love replacements because they have already proven they are buyers for what you are selling. they are just looking for something they perceive to be better.

worked Wed and Thursday and wrote 8 new policies, 5 of which were replacements. Mostly small $30 to 50 dollar monthly premiums. It certainly wasn't anything to write home about but it did pay for gas, hotel and a night out on the town.

Frankenmuth is a great town this time of year; Christmas lights everywhere, a wonderful pasta shrimp, lobster dinner, followed by a peaceful sleigh ride at midnight. The crunchy snow had a really cool sound. The wind chill was minus 30 but after 9 or ten Kilian's at $1.50 each, I didn't feel a thing.

a $240 hotel room for $93. thank you priceline.

Spent $50 on a wonderful dinner and drinks

$50 worth of gas

caused 5 chargebacks

priceless

Wow-40/50% is replacement.. That's a high churn rate for policy holders. Are yout charge backs normally replacement cancels?
If you are going to hang out here, you might want to learn the terminology.. "Churn" indicates an agent is rolling his own business in order to get a new first year commission. In some jurisdictions, it is illegal and result in harsh penalties for an agent if caught. Replacing business written by another agent is not churning and I assume that is what NFL is doing. .

Although too many replacements is still ripe for inquiry.

Now, I'm not saying anyone on here is simply replacing to replace. But you better believe companies watch for that. They like the new premium, but they don't want a headache either.

I remember one company.. Settlers? ... saying that only a certain percentage of business accepted could be replacement...

My typical replacements come from the standard, easy to beat companies, like AARP, Globe, Colonial Penn, Bankers Life and Lincoln Heritage. It is usually a case of better price, more coverage, better coverage or cash out.

I had one yesterday where the wife wall pissy. She bitched for 30 minutes saying she couldn't find the policy, didn't have time to find it and was also mad because I got there 45 minutes ahead of my scheduled time and she wanted to take a nap. To which her husband replied; if he got here on time you still would not have been ready for him. She finally went and found the policy and I replaced it to get him the same payment and $1300 cash out.

When I finished with him she stated she had $50,000 for $39 per month, to which I replied it is term life, not whole life. She said no, it is whole life and I said there is no way you a whole life policy with those numbers. She started bitching at me again so I said, go get it and prove me wrong!

She went and got it, in 30 seconds, which tells me she knew where her husbands policy was all along. It was a 5 year term with a payment of $39 per month. Her payment in 2021 was jumping to $237 per month. Of course she did not believe me so we called the company, to which they confirmed exactly what the policy stated.

Replaced her as well and now I am her hero.
