Lead Generating for MA

I think what you are trying to do is sell that WellCare crap to Medi-Medi's. WellCare does not have a plan for duals but they try to convince people that the Duet plan is perfect for them.

It's not. It's deceptive. I don't believe it ethical to sell the way they say you should. You can call me if you want a complete explanation.

On the door to door John - is it feasible for leads to be generated WITHOUT mentioning medicare, etc - then those leads sold or given to an agency to utilize for the purpose of creating pre-set appointments?

Does anyone have a link to the Do's and Don'ts of MA solicitation? I asked my group for one, but they didn't have it.

Thanks,

Tom
Here is official "Medicare Marketing Guidelines" for MA and other plans.

Geez - 179 pages of regulations and red tape crap . . .

Instead of a book on marketing - CMS and our precious government should institute a "lock box" system to prevent 100 different agents constantly rewriting a client. I believe anyone needing a MA type product should have access to an advisory team that insures they actually need to constantly "switch" to a different plan. HELL - duel eligibles can switch everyday if they wish. As a friend of mine suggested - they should be allowed to switch only within 10 days of their birthday - period.

On the marketing - good point Tom.

We are teaming up with a marketing company to create "field" leads for health and wellness products. These leads will be created using door to door, seminars, cook outs, mailers and phone calls. These leads can then be purchased by Insurance Agents selling various products.

During the lead generation - no mention of the bad word MEDICARE will be made - just information gleaned from the interview or mailer. To heck with 179 pages of crap . . .

Hope it works . . .

" We have enough rules already. If you sell the right product you won't have to worry about people switching plans on you. (most of the time). "

Down here in GA / SC seems agents are right behind the other ones, causing the first guy to get canceled before he even gets paid on the app.

Right products? Please tell me which MA products would prevent the client from switching when the next guy comes along? I'm always willing to learn.

Well that depends on the county. I find there are usually 2-3 in a given area that are comparable and worthy of selling. All the other ones are just noise. I also find if you sell it right, you don't have to worry about it getting replaced.

I agree. I and every other agent will run into to prospects that have a horrible plan but the prospects are sold on the agent or company. Some agents are just better than others at retaining business.

Let's face it. In the tropics they come and they go…

Some of our clients are as crazy as a bug's ear and they will change plans on a dime. They are transactional by nature and will have a very short-term relationship with any agent whom shadows their door. Fortunately, most are eager for good advice and want predictability.

The thing that is constantly missing in all these threads concerning marketing activities is the state. Yup, most states have rules against this type of marketing activity. Watch your state regs.

Also, how do you connect dots? At what point does the canvassed senior go from a very cold call to a MA presentation? "Well Mrs. Jones I understand that you responded to our offer to have your blood pressure checked. Good, that's why I'm here…"
