Lead! Sell Group Insurance to My Office

Geez, I would help you, but I am licensed only in PA. There seem to be quite a few FL agents on this forum. I would think that the newbies from FL would jump at this opportunity. Even if it's not great from a financial viewpoint it could be a great learning experience for a newbie.

What, in how to deal with a first class pain in the a$$? Or how to recognize a money losing opportunity and pass on it?

Bob hit the nail on the head, any real value is in the referrals to other dentists and business owners you know. That said, for that small a group and only $75/mo, you're just being greedy to want any part of that. Find someone you like, give him all of your group, and split commissions on the renewals. Honestly, unless most of the referrals are under 10, you really ought to forgo any split on something that small.

Calm down, Vol. It would be like a baptisim of fire. It's more like a practice run for a newbie. I wouldn't touch it if he were located only a block away from me.;)

I wouldn't touch it. Sounds greedy to me. Now if it were a 20 life case, maybe. I'd rather eat sardines if I needed the money that bad.

If maternity coverage is on the table, short term disability should be in the mix along with hospital indemnity. Perhaps it makes the commission picture a tad brighter.

I guess I don't understand why so many of you feel that if you sell his "group" insurance coverage that he would even take the time to give any of you referrals. It is definitely something he didn't mention.

With his attitude do any of you really feel that he would do that?

You can probably easily guess what my answer would be.

I don't think many actually believe he would give referrals, merely that referrals are the only way to salvage this.

Dude would certainly want a piece of the referral commissions. And if any Dentist took you out to eat for a rack of ribs, he'd want a piece of that too!
