Never heard of this guy. Have looked into it a bit before, but there doesn't seem to be a set theory - all the dudes have their own chingas going. What are your thoughts?

If I understand it correctly, NLP is essentially a "study of whatever works", so it'd make sense that every guru will have their own set of things that work.

A few years ago, I worked with a carrier (who will remain nameless) that taught their agents how to use a pen during a presentation to direct their prospect's eyes, keep them paying attention, and keeping them nodding yes right up to having them sign on the line.

You can find details about NLP on the Wikipedia website. It has been around since the 1970's. Most respected psychologists consider it a pseudoscience. I believe that the guru Tony Robbins uses an adaptation of NLP in his success training.:skeptical:

Here's a story on how NLP helped me close a sale. And it is true that a blind man can be visual. I picked up on this with his vocabulary, and began using words like; "can yousee how this can help you?" "Picture this...Mr Johnson."

We all have a dominate software our brains run on. Can I be Visual? Yes...but I am auditory mainly (As most sales people are.) with all my self talk.

The sensory predicates, breathing posture and gestures were also considered important.[40] In the sensory predicate model, if someone said:
  • "that rings true for me", rings predicates auditory processing.
  • "that's clearer now", the sensory predicates clearer indicates some internal visual representation.
  • "I can see a bright future for myself", the sensory predicates see and bright indicates some internal visual processing.
  • "I can grasp a hold of the concept", the sensory predicates grasp and hold indicates primarily kinesthetic processing
These verbal cues are often coupled with posture changes, eye movements, skin color, or breathing shifts. Essentially, it was claimed that the practitioner could ascertain the current sensory mode of thinking from external cues such as the direction of eye movements, posture, breathing, tone of voice, and the use of sensory-based predicates.

That pen trick worked, I was taught the same thing , probably from the same nameless outfit. Just glad things are moving online so that we don't have to resort to that.
