Lets Try This Again - Leads

Some agents have to hit rock bottom before they wake up.

Or maybe some people like the fact that someone took the time to train them and help them. Answer the phone no matter when I call and answer any question I have.

I have ZERO sales experience and my guys have been more than patient with me. And thats why I am taking lower commission. Now sometime down the line I may venture off on my own but now I am just learning and like the fact that I have someone I can trust and turn to.

And another thing all you people who seem to know everything about the insurance business and think its YOUR JOB to come on here and ridicule others.. you have no idea my situation and what is going on. So keep your opinions and your posts to yourself. You are not helping anyone being negative and frankly you come off like a butthole. There are plenty of people on here who have helped and I appreciate everyone one of you. The rest of you can kick rocks.

I know that was unprofessional but it seems the only way to get through to you guyse is to stoop to your level.

You are right to be loyal if they are helping you. But they need to be fair too. There is no way that anyone can earn any money with half commissions and no decent leads. I would sit down with them and give them every chance to create a plan that works for both of you. But you need leads every week and if you have to buy them you need a decent commission.

I'm sure a lot of the veterans on here started the same way before they figured there was something better than $60-70% contracts. If it wasn't for this forum I probably still wouldn't know that you could get 115%

One of the advantages though of a lower contract with good training is I learned how to really go to WORK. I couldn't afford $20 per lead's on a 70% contract, (hell I barley even can afford gas on that!), but you can drop me off in a grid and i"ll knock every door from sun up to sun down till I come back with apps! If I would have started with a higher contract, I probably could have afforded leads, but I would never have learned how to generate leads! I traded a lower contract for the ability to learn from an upline who built their book of business the old Fuller Brush way!

It amazing how many new agents come into this business that don't know how to prospect! That type of training is truly a lost art!

If you were looking for Health I could help you, but not the other type of insurance leads.

Don't listen to the IMOs telling you to move....If you search other threads you will see some who moan that they train a newer agent and then they leave for higher commissions. If your business is working for YOU right now that is what is important. If it ain't broke don't be to quick to change it.

I believe you may find more success with higher commissions but when you make the change it WILL be a disruption on your business you will either need new carriers and learn their processes or go 6 months not producing for carriers so you can move your contracts. Also being in charge of ordering your own mailers while not too difficult can have a little learning curve not the least of which is continueing to order them.
