A man approached our Church, and would like to use our Church property to launch & land his hot air balloon. He has a 1 million $ policy that he will show before we give permission.

Any comments ??

Ask to be listed as an additional insured on his policy.

Possibly a hold harmless agreement as well to protect you self in the event that something happens to this clown.

Since when can a Hot air balloon pick and chose where they will land?

Will $1M cover the potential damage if he lands on the roof of the church?

Does the liability policy actually cover hot air balloon activities? I assume yes, but make sure.

Is the policy active? Get a certificate of insurance from the carrier with the Church listed. It will show the validity of the policy.

AGREE. be sure it includes products/completed operations and not just premises liability at his location. and look out for wording about the limit per passenger.

I don't think they have to have FAA approval if within certain mileage of an airport. (25 miles?)
