Liberty Mutual Non-compete and Feedback Working for them

If you're successful at generating business, you won't have time to chase old clients. It's not worth messing with it when carriers have deep pockets & can bury you.

Liberty Mutual is a starting place. You either learn the business & then open an IA after 2 years....or you stay with LM forever & never make good money....or quit insurance entirely after a few years there.

......What he said.

Insurance 1822- I already know I won't make great money with LM, I am working there just to save some money and pay down my loans, then in a few months go back to MassMutual even though they want to hire me now, I just want to know if the non compete would prevent me from doing that.

If you open your own IA & see it through for 5-10 years you will out-earn 99% of mass mutual agents. It's also a great foot in the door to sell financial services products as well

It is a non-solicit clause - not a non-compete clause. If you quit Liberty Mutual you can work for another insurance company - you just can't contact your customers for 2 years.

Okay thats good, if what you said is correct then I will be able to go to MassMutual. and i'm not sire if I would go indy as opposed to just going to work for Mass or possibly Guardian, I also have an interview with them. Don't know the first thing about Indy.
