If you are a producer for p&c like me, I'd like to know what a typical day is like for you.

I believe time is the most valuable asset we have and I'd like to see how some of the great ones are spending it. What are your daily activities that are bringing in business for your agency.

From the moment you get in till you leave, what are you doing?

I am asking for opinions from good producers.

Not saying I am one. This thread would be pretty pointless for me if I was.

You know what, I will admit, MY BAD, I re-read your first post, I thought you called yourself a top producer.....

Well, what is, to you, a top producer? $100,000 a GWP a month, $25,000?

Its kinda like defining, what is rich?

Here is an article I read a LONG time ago, about a top producer from Advisor today.com

Producers that consistently bring in 25-30K of new business a month for their agency.

I have not achieved this level yet and would like to know what others are doing that I may not be.

Give us some of your marketing events you are doing

They probably don't post too often on forums, just sayin...

Don't know about the P&C guys but there are a lot of top producers in the life area that post regularly on the forum.. Especially in the Final Expense forum.

I wouldn't consider myself a top producer, but I did have a pretty good system in place before I started managing.

I would usually get into the office around 9 (I am not a morning person) I would dial any Internet leads I had received in the past week. I usually had about 30 calls to make. They would take about an hour/hour and a half depending how many people I talked to.

After that I would return any phone calls I had and fix any underwriting issues I had. Before and after lunch I would work on any quotes that needed to be done ASAP. I would eat lunch around 1 at my desk in case the phone rang. Between 2 and 5 I would work on more quotes and and write any apps that I had. I was averaging around 2 apps a day for home owners. From 5 to 7 all I would do is dial the phone; cold calls, Internet leads, referrals, etc. All I wanted to do is talk to people.

Get home around 7, eat dinner and work on quotes that I hadn't done yet while I watched the baseball game until about 10. It worked well because I usually had about 5 leads come in at night so I would email the quote that night and then follow up in my morning call session. I did this Monday through Thursday. It is all about activity.

FL Broker - Thanks for sharing, some very helpful info.

RBA - My activity consists of ex-dating commercial via cold calls, mailing unsolicited homeowner quotes & following up, cold calling building owners in nyc, and working my natural market.
