Life in a Day of a Top Producer

FL Broker - Thanks for sharing, some very helpful info.

RBA - My activity consists of ex-dating commercial via cold calls, mailing unsolicited homeowner quotes & following up, cold calling building owners in nyc, and working my natural market.

Nothing for warm leads........find a couple networking groups. Buy some online leads...go to car lots, go to apartment complexes...

For commercial lines, I really think you need to get off your butt and go see these businesses, I wont talk to someone who calls me or emails me........you know, as agents, we get hounded by restoration and glass companies, do you ever talk to any that email or call you? I dont, but when I had an office, I would sit with them when they walked in..........

I'm the #2 producer in my office ... out of 2 :/ ... its mostly because I sit and read the forums

good question. check out "the 4 disciplines of execution" stephen covey. some people go through the program and a light comes on. best $20 bucks i ever spent.
decide if you want to focus on commercial or personal. prospect for that in the most effecient way possible and realize that everything else is a time drain that needs to be delegated.

Build a marketing plan on how you are going to reach different people whether it is to quote, or a way to advertise your self. Then every day look at that marketing plan and figure what is something you need to work on everyday or things that are for later on down the road. It is good to put it on paper so you can follow it daily. Just my thought. the more lines you have in the water will equal success. Having only a couple lines in the water (internet leads & mailings) will = failure. think outside the box

Manage marketing campaigns and take live leads from my telemarketer. Follow up on X dated leads and information needed for new and renewal quotes in my pipeline. Networking (breakfast, lunch, happy hour) with bankers, commercial RE brokers, investment clubs, payroll sales people, health agents, CPA's, attorneys and other P&C agents that may want to join my agency or that work for national brokers that don't write small business. I forward their industry info and insurance stories/rate changes, etc to my customers and prospects.

As an owner I do this while trying to avoid company reps, telemarketers and HR issues from my employees and agents while making sure they have what they need to do their job. I spend all day Sunday putting together desks, chairs and setting up computers/emails/logins/etc for two new agents that started on Monday.

Young Grasshopper, did you REALLY just ask this question? I think its time for some flaming.....but since I like ya......I willl let one slide...:D

You can ONLY split a commission with someone who is licensed!!!!!!!

You can give a referral fee to ANYONE, but your state might have specific limits on what or how much you can give.....

i know; i annoy myself sometimes. i shouldn't get on here late at night.
