Link to Your Insurance Competitors

BY THE WAY: according to SEMrush your site Medicare Supplement Plans in Georgia - Find affordable Medigap rates in GA - Instant Rates receives 61 organic hits per month from Google. Perhaps you shouldn't give SEO advice

Bob, was kind enough to give me quite a view pointers about seo when I first started. Which reminds me, I owe him a gift card.

And while SemRush is a good tool, it's not 100% reliable. One of my better sites, it says gets $24k worth of organic traffic a month, which isnt close to the truth.

See...I shouldn't have been such a bully:1rolleyes:

just so you can have some fun....analytics says the auto insurance landing page got 207 for the month....that's more than we really want right now...my staff is too swamped with referrals and other new business

Merry Christmas

By the way, I consider Dave Miller a personal friend...it's just a coincidence that he's also an excellent SEO guy

Linking to competitors who rank well for similar keywords won't make you lose business. No one is going to go into your link pages and then choose to go with one of those sites for insurance instead of yours, or at least it's very unlikely. If you had relevant links to 20-30 highly ranked sites for similar keywords you would see tremendous gains in your SERPS.

With that said, I'd like to link trade with those who rank very well for life insurance or even health insurance keywords, preferrably PR2 or better.

If you'd like to link to me, goto to my link request form at Financial Link Exchange

I wouldn't link to a direct competitor without a compelling reason. That being said, there are so many factors that affect ranking that a few outbound links probably don't matter much unless you are linking to a site that competes with you for the same keywords.

If I had an auto insurance site, I might link to a homeowners insurance site or to another auto insurance site that served a different geography.

Having no outbound links is bad. Having too many is also bad.

I do link to high authority sites like Medicare.gov in my blog posts. I think that this improves rankings.
