How do you determine some ones LIS level ? He gets his part B paid for and help with rx and not on Medicaid.

Anthem's mProducer can also help you to check LIS level. LIS has 4 levels. If he's not on a level of Medicaid that makes him dual-eligible more than likely he has either Lv.1 or Lv.4. Still, you don't assume, so go to your carrier's portal like UHC Jarvis, click "Medicare & Medicaid Eligibility Lookup" to enter their name, DOB, and MBI to find out. Yes you can check their Medicaid Eligibility as well. Anthem's mProducer and Humana's Vantage can do the same.

Another method if you're in a lazy mood is ask the beneficiary how much he pays for generics or brand drugs at the pharmacy. If he says everything is free, or generics are $1.XX, or $3.XX, that will give you a fairly reliable indication of his LIS level. If he says he has a deductible around $92 at the beginning of each year, and then pays various miscellaneous amounts after that, it's a clue that he has partial LIS. But the above methods are the best. And if he's set up to log into medicare.gov, you can see LIS info there.
