Lost Again...where do I go next?

1) You need hands on training. I have always said that it is important to work with someone in your town so they can guide you through this business. Where are you located? Anyone can give you a contract.......who is willing to be your hands on mentor, that's the hard part. This is the reason I don't give contracts to people I'm not willing to drive to meet every single day and train them.

2) What is your niche market? What is your client base you want to focus on? Mortgage Protection? Final Expense? Traditional Life Insurance? State employees? Federal employees? Teachers? Etc?

3) After determining your niche market, you need to find and determine how are you going to market this product?

4) Do you have any capital to run this business? If not, what are you willing to do to make it up the lack of money?

Finding clients and having the funds to find clients is crucial no matter who you contract with.
Thank you for insight. I am working on getting a part-time job to pay the bills. I would like to focus on selling TERM AND BASIC WHOLE LIFE INS. WFG pushed me selling IUL products but I have no business selling this product to clients. IUL products are more complex. I would like to work for someone that I can learn TERM and WHOLE. I need to learn how to really read illustrations. I told TERM and WHOLE all day at Aflac but it was horrible. I was pushed to sell their product in 5 minutes or my upload would get mad at me. Just horrible.

Any TERM or WHOLE insurance company with great online training that I can learn from? I willing to make less commission.

I have a feeling you want TERM and WHOLE life.

Northstar does telesales and free leads at 45% comm. It might be a good place to cut your teeth, but eventually you'll want to save enough money to pay for leads and get higher comm, like DBGA.

I've heard don't become a captive agent. I will get screwed with low commission.

I already posted in your other thread.

However, WFG starts people off at 25% and increases with production and/or recruiting a team. Going to a "captive" company - like New York Life, Northwestern, MassMutual, Guardian, etc., would start you off at 55% + bonuses. And while these companies may have "first right of refusal", you can still place business with other companies.

Independent agents may have some tiered compensation, but that's in place of bonuses of the career agencies.

Would not be bad to consider a career agent position through Penn Mutual. They are great with Term and Whole Life. I believe they provide a salary, not certain. I know you mentioned online sales, but to get you learning right away and doing it full time vs part time might give you a better opportunity for success.

Insurance Sales is simple. Just be yourself. Get with an Independent Agent who sells life insurance. Once your signed with an Independent, contact the life insurance carriers and ask them to come to your office to train you on their products and website.
You will learn and understand how to write an application.
Going out and prospecting is simple. Be yourself and always ask for referrals.
