Making the Most of Being an Insurance Agent

I'm guessing caliban does more dreaming than most:1wink:

Maybe so, but at least he is dreaming. I'm with him 100% on how to run this business. Insurance as a whole is as boring as watching grass grow. But it pays well and the more ways I can figure out how to stay OUT of the office the better. Work is SO overrated. Its about getting people to do your work for you. If Caliban is the real deal, he is smarter than most of us (except those of you who do this job to "help people") - like some calling from on high.

I totally agree with you Caliban. My end goal is becoming clearer after reading your posts. Who wouldn't want an efficient office that can sustain itself and even grow while I do nothing (or very little)!

I am personally in a very different situation though. I guess I can best be described as a combination of Betty and veronica :err:. I've been a staffer for a State Farm agent for almost 3 years now and it is becoming very clear that it is getting me nowhere (except for experience in the field I guess). I would love to hear how you got started 8 years ago Caliban. I am assuming that you at some point in fact DID HAVE TO WORK to get your office off the ground :).

Anyway, your posts have giving me inspiration to reach higher.
