Mass Mutual and Other Mutual Companies

So looks like in Mass Mutual, for field training, a lot of the joint work is with other agents but then they usually take a 50% cut. sounds like a few in the beginning will be with a mgr..but it is starting to sound more like they really want you to do as much joint work in the beginning but again that is with 50% cut...I was wondering in other companies such as NY Life or Northwestern , when they go out to field train you, do they also take a cut? Metlife pays you a starting salary....
