Med Supps and DENTAL Coverage Recommendations?

In Florida there is Solstice which is real good. Most plans aren't worth the money since they have a $1,000 to $1500 annual cap. I'm having major dental work. I negotiated a cash deal with the dentist and saved 25% plus I'll get the $1500 from the group ins my wife has and the work is spread over 2 yrs. Most plans are $39 mo for one person, almost $500 yr. I say save the premium and find a dentist who will negotiate for cash. Those $100 bills I pay with get me farther than any insurance. I think the same way about medical discount plans. Save your money and pay cash, cash speaks loud and clear.

Most plans are $39 in FL? I'm sorry, but you are wrong. There are plenty of plans in the $200 per year range. And one's that are dental insurance plans, not discount plans.

I checked Solstice in FL for dental. Doesn't seem too bad, though I only saw examples of charges, not a SOB. Also, I put my zip code here in Orlando and they don't service this area. Orlando, no coverage?

Medico & UCT both offer a dental, vision and hearing plan. These plans give you the freedom to see any dentist, vision provider or hearing provider. They will cover alot of things from the very 1st day, including dental exams, x-rays, fillings, chipped tooth, eye exam, hearing exam. They only pay one cleaning a year and that's covered after 90 days. root canals and glasses and contacts are covered after 6 months and after 12 months hearing aids and the more expensive things like crowns, dentures, etc are covered.

Each year the benefits will increase. They cover 60% 1st year, 70% 2nd year, 80% 3rd year and 90% 4th year and thereafer.

The premiums are very reasonable. You can probably look at www.ritterim.com and see what they are.

I took out the UCT plan and I like the plan. It's been paying the claims based on what the providers are charging me, they haven't reduced the amount by saying...the reasonable and customary charge is lower than what was billed, they've gone by what the provider charged me

thanks for all the replies - plan to look into some of these recommended dental plans etc to see what their rates are like for SENIORS.

regards
