Metlife Auto & Home

In my market Metlife is worthless & more in particular (in my market) going captive w/ Metlife would be equivalent to gargling broken glass coated in anthrax w/ the intention of getting a better singing voice.

Go Indy or go home.

Same here. They aren't even in the ballpark. I'd definitely look into whether they're competitive before signing on with them.

That said though, why go captive with a company that offers their product through indy agents? Why do you think I ultimately left Nationwide even though they had a great product that was highly competitive in my area?

I have been offered a Met Life contract in my wheelhouse every year since I went Indy. With the overrides, they pay 25% new. Hard to resist that, but they just are not competitive here and never have been.

Most captives do. But there's the kicker, you have to somehow flourish in what I believe is a system that inherently limits your ability to flourish.

only state farm & metlife to be exact (as far as i know.) allstate & nationwide sure as hell dont. and honestly i dont know if state farm is still doing pensions they're prob just doing 401k's for new contracts.
