Information resists being kept secret. Census data has a way of finding itself in the hands of people who weren't supposed to have it. If anyone, I'd wager on Muslims being the next group rounded up.

I"m paranoid? Did I touch a nerve by mentioning these wealthy fearmongering leaders of the paranoid right wing establishment? There is nothing wrong with being conservative and or progressive/liberal. It takes a blend of both to make this democracy work. However people need to know the difference in the information they get and whether that information should be repeated or ignored. Michelle Bchmannn is a nut. Glenn Beck is a smart nut and a con man, a wealthy one at that. There are legitimate sources to get information. Neither of these are a source of any kind of factual information and certainly not deserving of the air time they get.

You completely misinterpreted what I wrote. You claim that some conservatives are paranoid about will be done with Census data. I'm not saying they are right to be scared or not, but sometimes paranoid people really do have something to fear.

As I said, hispanics complained about unnecessary census data that could lead to their being rounded up and the government fell all over themselves responding to what was considered to be a legitimate concern. So we have both libs and conservatives expressing concerns about government over-reach. Didn't hear a lot of libs out there chiding the hispanic community about what they would wear when they were rounded up.
Lay off the kool-aid and you will see the larger picture, not just the part that Keith Oberman and Rachel Maddow told you about.

Kinda see the point here from the last two posts. I may have had a bit much coffee today. But I get my blood pressure up any time Michelle Bachmann is quoted by any legitimate outlet. The first thing she needs to do to gain any respect is to give up the $50,000 annual farm subsidy. She advocates smaller government and fewer handouts so as a tea partier, she needs to step up to the plate. Might want to forego the taxpayer funded healthcare she gets too. But anyway, I think there will always need to be a need to minimize governmet intrusion in our lives but there are some media outlets and talk show hosts using this fear to influence public opinion and not for OUR well benefit as a country.

I saw this interview, she just wouldn't let go of the $105B talking point. Almost irritating, a role she likes to play. Ms Bachman, is the sky blue? "Did you know that O snuck $105B into the bill......"
