I am interested in becoming an insurance producer in Michigan. My first question is, do I NEED to take a class? I feel pretty confident that I can read the material and do well in the exam. I have two Bachelor's degrees (Accounting and Finance) and am currently working on my MBA. The only reason I'd like to do it independently (without a course) is to save some money. Would I require a completion certificate before registering for the exam? If so, would you recommend any courses? What about "self-study"?
I've seen some products that I would like to write for; they are listed under "Accident." Some places, I see courses for "Property & Casualty" or "Life & Health." Other places, I see "Accident." Am I correct to assume that Accident is included in Life & Health?
Any tips/advice/suggestions would be appreciated!
