Mobile Home Insurance with a Prior Fire Loss

Hi. I am located in coastal SC and hope someone on here may be able to help me. I am looking for a market for a customer that has a new mobile home. The issue is that they had a fire loss last year. I have a copy of the fire report and it states 'possible pan on stove'. All of the carriers and/ brokers I have talked to have no place for this due to the careless/negligent nature of the loss.

Does anyone have any ideas, please?

I did try Foremost but got a big fat 'no' due to the nature of the loss. Thanks for responding though!

ditto what Aram said. I'm surprised foremost didn't take that.

Your last option may be to go with a FAIR plan, which is a high risk pool that is ran by the state. I'm not sure if that coverage is available for mobile homes or not. But it won't hurt to ask.

The number for South Carolina fair plan is 803-737-6180.

I called the SC DOI (which is the above number) and unfortunately SC has no FAIR plan. I hate not being able to help someone but it appears that is the case with this one. I do appreciate you taking the time to answer though!

Is there no surplus lines broker to help you in SC?
