Monumental Life Lead Program

I've seen posts on here before asking about the Monumental life lead program. I signed up and thought I'd share my experience.

It was $225 for 1,000 mailers. The average return rate that I've had on all my direct mail campaigns is about 20 cards or 2%.

After 6 weeks I've received 6 returns on my Monumental campaign.

.6% response rate.

Could be a fluke, maybe not. I've had many, many direct mail campaigns and this is the worst return rate I've ever had. My record for worst return before this was 13 cards.

Monumental has sent an email a month ago that they are aware that the return rate was bad nationwide. They were changing their mailpiece to try to improve it.
I did 4 drops with them and had less than .5 return. One drop of 1000 got only 3 replies and all 3 were duds (it's the leads, it's the leads!)
overall I made a profit on the 4 drops but not what I should have made. My lead cost is only $200 per thousand. I believe everyone who is contracted under me with Monumental can have that same lead price.

I cold called today for 2 hours and set 5 med supp appointment with Franks script. All health question qualified.

I don't think I could ever risk the cash to send out mailers. Maybe I will change my mind when I been in the biz a long time.

I got 3 back from the 1000 pc mailing woohoo

That Sucks!!! The average FE agent needs 20 leads a week to be able to make any real money selling FE. (100K+ after expenses) It does not matter what your commission levels are if you do not have people to go see those contracts are worthless.

So since Monumental realizes that the lead pulls are down and agents will be quickly exiting their 'lead program' they will go back and "Vanilla up" the lead card to drive up returns. Then you can look forward to people thinking you are going to provide information about "Meals on Wheels" and "Medicaid" or anything free they can receive. They will probably add the word "Free" several times.

It really makes me appreciate the lead card that I work where it says "Life Insurance" on the first line. Most people have a reasonable idea about what I am coming to see them about. I have worked those generic leads, and you can make sells from them. You just have to sort through more leads to find the people that want information about FE.

Hoosier, what range of response rates do you usually get with "Life Insurance" in the 1st sentence?

Hoosier, what is your return on sending out 1000 cards?

I just started using a mailer with "life insurance" on the piece.
I am guessing the return will be 1 pct, as opposed to the 2+ pct I would get from the old tired, social secruity mailer from the 1950's. What a piece of garbage.

But I agree with Hoosier, the people will know why I am calling and or knocking on their door.

Come on now...three leads off 1000 mailed and zero sales...I just need to raise the numbers to 2000 mailed...six leads...zero sales...no maybe bet the house and drop 10,000 leads...yeah! That sounds about right!

I'm going to be RICH! I've got it figured out now.

Why does everyone complain about the leads? It's the lead response that should garner the complaints.
