Most Interesting Moments.

I sent a letter to George Steinbrenner, CEO of the NY Yankees. A few weeks later I got a call from someone (I'll leave the name out).
George wasn't interested but gave the letter to this person and told him to "get more insurance." And he did.

Was it Costanza?
.......

I had a friend who helped get this lonely elderly man his policy, he had no family, his wife had passed. She connected with him and would stop by and visit and help him out when she could. Well when he finally passed she found out he put her in his will. She got a car and a good sum of money. You never know about people a good dead can go a long way.

Was going BtoB and walked into a Remax office. Owner wasn't there but the girl behind the desk told me to put my flyers into each one of the agent's mail boxes.

I get a call the next day - lady identified herself as the owner of the Remax and asked if I was the one who put flyers into all of her agent's boxes for health insurance. I cringed and said yes, waiting for her to unload on me.

Instead, she invited me to speak in front of all of her agents during their Monday meeting and she referred me to a few other Remax owners. I became their agent every time someone needed an individual plan.

Walked into a beauty shop and turns out the owner was organizing a convention in D.C for beauty shop owners. She invited me to speak and hand out materials. I showed up with my wife and spoke in front of around 200 independent salon owners. I was writing deals off that for the next 6 months.

wow that's awesome!!

"Was it Costanza?"

Actually, as much as I refer to Seinfeld, you would think it was. But it was not. At the time, he was one of the GMs (George had more than one) and I had to wait until the post season was over to write it.

Sadly, the guy was fairly young and it was just term. I think about 500k so not a huge premium. And I never got to talk to big George.

My story is a bit different, it happened today though. My 1:00 appoint stood me up so I decided to call my 5:00 to see if they would see me early. HE said sure we are home now, I forgot to tell you that my house is behind the marina, you can't see it from the road.
So I drive over there and see the marina and drive behind it. I see this mud driveway leading to a gravel driveway around the pond. So I figure that is the way. Well all of the sudden my car starts sliding and BAM I end up down in a ditch off the drive and my car bout rolls over. So my car door can barely open because its on such a steep slope. Luckily the guy owned a back hoe and was able to pull me out. I took the wrong drive. his real drive was another 500 yrds up past the marina.
He did sit down for the appt afterwards and needless to say he did not buy today....

The harder you work, the luckier you get..

That sucks.. I have a small car if it rains I always get stuck in the mud, and being a female it is very hard to get it out by yourself. Lucky he was able to pull you out. He should have just went ahead and got a policy for all the trouble you went through

Most people don't realize that being a bailbondsman is selling insurance.
Man do I have stories...
1. I remember having a gf of a defendant bonding her bf out of jail with all one dollar bills (she was a stripper) who was caught shipping cocaine through the mail.
2. I remember bonding out a gentleman that got a dui while being on a riding lawnmower, and again on a 4 wheeler..
3. The saddest story was when I bonded a man out for beating his gf, who was a daughter of one the biggest drug dealing kingpins around. Go figure she helped me bond him out. When he got out, he tracked her down (this was one and a half hours later) and stabbed her 76 times with a butcher knife...that was sad, she was a nice lady...

I have tons of stories like that..
Selling health or life, doesn't hold a flame...
