Moving to Texas

Dubya. You are right. On the back end reinsurance has tripled for coastal risks in TX. It is still cheaper in TX. I have lived in about 16 states and a few different countries. I just bought a brand new 4000 sf home with a salt water pool and 3 car garage for under 250k. I don't know of too many other places that you can live like that. My homeowners insurance is 1600 a year. That is through Met Life. For our area and type of home they had the best rate. Now if I lived closer to the coast that rate would have doubled.

Yes but being an insurance agent in Texas is amazing. Rates can keep climbing for all I care, mo money! Of course I'm being slightly sarcastic, but Texas with no state taxes, and a always booming economy is the place to be!

The home insurance for Texas costal area is very expensive now. However, i do have 3 or 4 different A rated companies that still give a very good premium for those properties and those companies are no longer appointed any agents now. If you interested, PM me.
