I've did a search i found alot of companies like lexisnexis choice point, sentry link etc....

but they all have 25-100 report min. per month commitments!

i don't do a lot of commercial auto, but does anyone know of site that does report by report charge?

i think its a NY thing all my carriers want me to pull mvrs myself!

RBA,
I recently received an email from a carrier (GMAC) that said they were going to start charging for unsold MVR AND CLUE reports. I'm thinking... Charging for mvr's is becomming more common. But charging for CLUE? Really?
Wondering if you got the same memo in AZ?

Yes, we have been charged with GMAC lately and Kemper is now doing it also, if you close at a 70% rate of reports run, they wont charge you, it maintains I think a 3 month running total, just run MVR's in a company that isnt charging.....CLue, havent seen that yet

Dude, I was SOOO pissed when I found out Kemper was starting to charge MVRs. It really says a lot to me when a company states it is for preferred and ultra-preferred business, the top of the top, and then charge for things like MVRs. Safeco doesn't do it and their underwriting is FAR more lenient than Kemper is...

^^^ that answer is going to vary state to state.

I have a question:
some companies' quote sites are now becoming very agent-user friendly with their quote process in that much of the driver and vehicle information is automatically pre-filled. for example, enter the named insured's name and address, and in many cases, other drivers and vehicles are already listed. all you have to do is click on the name of a driver or a vehicle that you want added to the policy, instead of manually typing in the info.... this info usually includes the driver(s)' date of birth, DL#, and VIN#'s for the vehicle(s).

this info is all provided PRIOR TO RUNNING A CLUE REPORT. If this info isn't coming from a CLUE report, where is it coming from? (and more importantly, why the need to charge for a CLUE report?)

Actually, it all comes from a CLUE report.
I've come to assume it runs it in 2 parts.

I didn't think any companies were charging for CLUE reports, just the MVR. Isn't the CLUE like 1 dollar at the cost to the insurance company? I understand the MVRs are like 6-12 dollars for many states (CA is 2 for Kemper) and people abuse that. But I figured that the credit score inquiry and the CLUE report were free just because of the low charge (if any).

What company is charging you for CLUE's right now?

The ironic thing about charging insurance companies for CLUE reports is the fact they are basically charging themselves to access their own data!!!!

The insurance company provides the data to CLUE so it can be accessed by the insurance company.

Of course, this means if they can bill agents and make a profit, they will.
