MVR Reports

They're going to make a profit allright! To the tune of $3.50 per unsold Clue! MVR is $3.00 per driver. So a family with 4 drivers can cost an agent $15.50 if they run a point of sale and don't make the sale.... That's not profit, that's gouging!

Depends on the state. In NC the MVR is around 8.50 but the CLUE is like a dollar.

Just run it with a carrier that is fine with the CLUE first. If the client has a 4k premium for auto with 2 cars then I'm sure there is a reason. Ask them and figure it out and then see how things can go from there.

I also just run it with carriers that don't charge right now, either. I still put plenty of business with them, I don't have a bitch carrier for that kind of thing.

^^^ that answer is going to vary state to state.

I have a question:
some companies' quote sites are now becoming very agent-user friendly with their quote process in that much of the driver and vehicle information is automatically pre-filled. for example, enter the named insured's name and address, and in many cases, other drivers and vehicles are already listed. all you have to do is click on the name of a driver or a vehicle that you want added to the policy, instead of manually typing in the info.... this info usually includes the driver(s)' date of birth, DL#, and VIN#'s for the vehicle(s).

this info is all provided PRIOR TO RUNNING A CLUE REPORT. If this info isn't coming from a CLUE report, where is it coming from? (and more importantly, why the need to charge for a CLUE report?)

My company has a prefill server (I think Lexisnexis) and it works great because a lot cases in auto insurance I run into people don't want to take the time to do a quote but with the prefill I have their current policy limits, operators, cars (with vin), and I'm done with the quote. So basically im calling people with rates not for quotes (sure I have to run the mvr as well)

Does anyone know how much something like this would cost to get out in the open market?
