My Dad is Bored in Retirement Already

My dad has retired and un-retired many times in the past 15 years. He's driving me nuts!
He has recently moved to Tucson and transferred his Allstate EFS contract there. Turns out, he can't be retired and an EFS at the same time! So, Allstate threw him out. He still wants to work and be busy 3 days a week.
My thought is to set him up with some FE carriers and do a mail drop.
Does anyone have any experience in Tucson? Will I be wasting my money? I'm thinking, because of the demographics, he shouldn't have a problem getting in front of people.
Ideas on carriers to start with?

looks like if he can play third base he will be successful...Is there a minor league team in Tucson?

Home Run Baker doesn't ring a bell. I do remember watching the Home Run Derby on Saturday.

Also remember seeing Willie Mays making an over the shoulder catch like a pass receiver. Don't think I watched the original game since I was only 4 at the time but certainly saw it replayed years later.

OK, I looked up Home Run Baker. That was a wee bit before my time. It was also before TV.

I do remember Dizzy Dean and Peewee Reese calling the game of the week (or whatever it was called) on TV.

The link is a bit outdated. Chipper Jones (in the link) is still active. He retired 4 years ago. Only played for one team his entire career.

I admire that.

Cal Ripken did the same. Under-rated as a player in my opinion. A real class act.

Yep, when we were kids it was very common for a guy to stay with a team his whole career. Now it's very rare. I think Jeter will be one of the last to have a long career with the same team. I don't follow baseball like I did when I was a kid. Half the time I can't keep track of who's on what team.

I don't recall pulling a pitcher after 5 or 6 innings, or a pitcher going on the DL for a hangnail. Seems like the pitchers were more durable then as well as the every day players.

The game has changed. As soon as a pitcher gets in trouble they put in the relievers...they didn't have many relievers back then either. Pitchers don't get many chances to pitch a complete game these days.

Don Sutton pitched 178 complete games over a 23 yr career that started in 66 and ended in 88.

Greg Maddux started in 1986 and retired in 2008. He pitched 109 complete games.

Don Drysdale pitched 167 complete games over 14 years starting in 1956 and ending in 1969

Sounds like he's got a lot left in the tank. The DM companies I asked, happily provided counts based on my criteria for FE. Using those counts and the experience of the data provider, you can get a pretty good idea what your initial numbers could be.

It's always my posts. I am being unfairly targeted by crazy FE brokers! Baseball? Grumble grumble grumble.
I will see if there is a minor league team he can join. Otherwise he will be stuck in Senior Softball with the other folks from the center. I hear they have designated scooter parking. . .
