My First Day in the Field

Dig: some of us new guys might be interested in you identifying those mistakes. I don't see them. I think it would make for a good discussion. Thanks.

Everything your saying here is fixable. And easy to fix at that. You're making basic rookie mistakes and I'm saying that with respect. You tried and stayed out there all day. But you're just making little misjudgment s.

If you want some help or pointers feel free to call me. I can promise you, 30 mins on the phone with me will help you and open your eyes to some of the mistake you were making.

Good luck. Stick with it.

NFL, funny you mention that. I followed your advice to a tee on the lady that called and cancelled. It was better than a no show and I was able to reschedule, so we will see what happens. Also, I have gone to the website multiple times, and after tweaking the script a little bit, to present it the way I think it is you on the webinar suggest, I was able to set 3 appointments. This is after blowing through 11 or 12 leads with no luck. So, thanks for that:)

Those leads that you blew through; keep them and call them back in a few weeks. They probably won''t even remember your first call. Or do a drive by when your in the area.

When your new your goal should be to meet with as many prospects as possible, face to face.

When scheduling the appointment give them as little info as possible. Just enough to make them think they need to hear and see what you can offer them. You can get them the best FE policy available and just as importantly, you can also save them money.

I have a script we use or that I give to my agents for setting appts. It's short and sweet but semi qualifying them. Pm me if anyone wants a copy

I'm in a giving mood lately so strike while the irons hot! Lol

GREAT POINTS!!!! So many agents will answer their phone just so the client cancel on them. We never would give them our cell #'s 1. 2....even if they leave a vcm cancelling, you can still go to the house and play dumb. Amazing when they say they won't be there and TAH DAH....low and behold they're home. :twitchy:

Yep, I was on my way to appointment last Wednesday. Got a voice message that the lady changed her mind and didn't want me to come (this was for Med Supp). I showed up, played dumb about the message. She said "You're here, I may as well listen to what you have".
Walked out with a signed app.
;)

I think you did well for your first day. Better than my first solo day alone. You have gotten some good advise from guys doing it.

NFL's suggestion on keeping those leads and reworking them is good. People pay for aged leads just like this. Spend .50c on a short note and business card to them. Your area is a good one to build rapport in.

Quack,
Honestly you did great for the first day. More so that you went out and actually worked. That you knocked on doors was even more impressive. So many agents think it's beneath them (read that as they are afraid to do it). Watch the webinar on "Survey Marketing". If you're comfortable with that and get good at you, you may never need to buy leads again.
Best Regards!
John

Thanks John, I confirmed my reschedule for Monday, also planning on the survey marketing that day as well.
