A few weeks ago I wrote a policy for a 74 year old man with emphysema, who was prescribed oxygen, but doesn't require it daily. The policy is GI with Gerber. He just called me back and said he found day 1 whole life coverage through Ethos....is there really a company that will do day 1 coverage for oxygen?? TIA.

Thanks, I should add more info....he wanted as much coverage as possible for $100/month, so I went with Gerber for $8000, CICA shows $7650, customer states he's getting $10k for $106 per month.

Customer is either stupid or lying.

CICA is better than Gerber since it's level.
Jd you wrote a ton of cica the last 18 months . I submitted my second claim about a month ago . A yr ago they denied a legitimate claim . Since we agents wrote a lot of sickier people with this. Surely you've had some claims in this contestable period . What's your experience been of them paying ?

I've only had 3. They paid one. The other 2 are stilling pending.

I'm in the ATL right now.

I had a CICA claim just after the second payment of $75. They paid it - $12k - to his widow, though they first told her to just sign a waiver and they'd send her ROP. When I heard that, I hit the ceiling and got her to file the claim. Took seven months, but it paid.

Just had my second claim submitted a month ago and I expect they won't pay it.
