I have built a site through homestead.com and I am lost. I did use the domain www.proquotesofvirginia.com but I purchased www.usalifeandhealthquotes.com from godaddy today. I have changed everything over to the new domain and I am just waiting for it to switch.

I know nothing about SOE or anyting else, including metatags. I would appreciate any advice. Does the words in the domain name have an effect on the search engines finding it?

I am licensed in VA, WV, TX, NY, FL, what will I need to do to make sure people are pulling it up there.

The best advice I can give you is to hire a professional.

You expect your prospects to purchase insurance from you because insurance is your specialty and you are good at it. You know what you are doing. Why would you not want a professional to handle your website? Your website will be the first impression a new prospect gets of who you are.

I would suggest that you contact the following two people. Dave Miller, (217) - 752-6239, and Tanisha Ryan, 757-320-5060.

Or you can spend valuable time playing around with it yourself while other agents are selling insurance to prospects who should be buying policies from you.

Selling insurance is a real business. Invest, invest, invest in your business. It doesn't cost, it pays.

I hope you do come into Florida to sell health insurance...cause after I get in behind you, I'm gonna eat your lunch!

- What's the best PPO network in the Keys?
- Who's the most competitive player in Jax?
- A major network issue is playing out in Ft Myers/Cape Coral, will your recommendation leave your client stuck?
- How do you hold the premiums down in Miami? HMO?
- Best alternatives in Tampa/St Pete?

Suggestion: get good on Virginia first.

I'm terrified!!!:twitchy: No actually I'm frightened, I may not be able to sleep tonight. Is it a ghost, nope, just ran into the best insurance agent in the world, or one that thinks very highly of himself/herself.

Actually, I could care less if I ever sold a major medical plan in Florida, or Virginia(opps, I will get good at that), or Texas, or New York, or South Carolina, or Wyoming, or New Mexico, or New Jersey, or Alabama, or Maine, or Tennessee, or Colorado, or Maryland(I take that back, I'm an Orioles fan), or Louisiana, or Montana, or Illinois, or Oklahoma, or Missouri, or Ohio, or Pennsylvania, or North Carolina, or Georgia, or North Dakota, or South Dakota, or West Virginia, or, well you get the point.

Do you ever notice that when someone on the forum ask for help you always have a smart*** answer and it usually ends up with you talking how good you are.
Sorry, not impressed...:D

Frank,

Thanks for the help. I am trying to keep cost down for a few months but I wanted to have a local site to put on my door hangers that will allow people to see who I am and what I offer. I really like Tenisha's websites and will probably call her. I was thinking about a Norvax site but I am not ready to jump into the major medical market yet. I am still selling Med Supps, Final Expense, and of course Life.

As always, I appreciate your advice.

Well, there are folks that are smart enough to understand when someone is trying to help them understand that they don't know what they don't know, and there are others that aren't that bright...

I know what you mean, neither am I. Maybe you should go back to selling cars...

In my post, did I say anything about major medical in Florida or anywhere else? I was asking for help on my website and asking abour SEO, etc. As a matter of fact, I will be selling life insurance and Final Expense in Florida. I may even take a vacation there and write it off on my taxes. There is one thing that is guaranteed, everyone that lives in Florida will die. Life insurance will always be around, will M.M?

I have no interest in jumping into the major medical mess that is going on in this country. I may sell the occasional individual plan, but thats it. I'll let you worry about Obama's plans.

If you were going to get leads, by area code, and sell life products online, would you be licensed in Rhode Island with a small amount of people, or Texas where there are millions? I choose Texas,I guess that makes me stupid.

If you were going to sell Final Expense online, would you rather be licensed in D.C where most people are between 30-60 and foreign, or would you be licensed where the majority is old people , like Florida. I choose Florida, I guess that makes me stupid.

I will be in insurance for the next twenty years and I will be successful just like I was for the 20 years I was in the car business. I made 6 figures there and I'll make 6 figures here.

Frank, has given you good advice. Heed it even if the money is tight. You may find that it doesn't cost you but pays you!

Hey there, I'm a newbie and this is my first post....

in your quote: "My original post:

I do know a few tips, and have a few suggestions that could help you out. Metatags and websites with the names in the URL does help and you do want to make sure you are indexed. I am not sure the webhosting company you are using to create the website is crawlable. You may want to ask them that. then, use content to create different pages, with a focus on each of the states you want to show up in.

but your form is rather daunting to a consumer. If you would like to know a bit more on that, i'm happy to help offline. Let me know!

Thanks,
InsLady

If you want to know what Google thinks your website is about, just "Google" your website address. When I "googled" Home, it came back with the title of your site as "Professional Service", which doesn't tell Google much about what your website is about. You can change this really easily through GoDaddy's domain manager. The title of your site is the first of many steps to make your site more friendly to the search engines.

I would next, submit your site to Google Local - http://www.google.com/local/add/businessCenter?gl=US&hl=en-US and Yahoo Local - Yahoo! Local Features — Overview

That'll give you a good start.
