Re: Working with AFLAC for now

I also found out that my E&O for only $232 a yr is good with any health and life products!

You sure got that right

If those were my only two choices, I'd start a house-painting business!

I'd operate the sour cream gun at Taco Bell before I sold another Mega plan. At least I could sleep at night.

AFLAC is a far better company than UGA, as they at least sell legitimate products. UGA is entirely designed on selling a far inferior product, underpricing the competition by enough of a margin to peak interest, and convincing the client they have far more coverage than they do. UGA is a criminal enterprise whose day is coming when the industry decides to crack down on health carriers as they have with life carriers in the past. Of course, UGA will have its agents believing they are really selling good products.

Back to AFLAC, when I was with New York Life, a fairly young agent came in from AFLAC and he absolutely kicked ass with New York Life. My last month there, this guy landed a deal with a group for guaranteed issue group life policies and wrote over 70 cases that month. Now, they weren't large policies and weren't on the full commission scale because of the guaranteed issue, but I'm sure he still made a nice commission from those deals. The lowest month I ever saw this guy have was $8,000 in commission and that is only commissions, no other bonuses or anything included. The man took the B2B principles that AFLAC taught him and applied it to a far better line of products with NYL.

AFLAC does teach its agents the B2B methods, so if you can handle getting beat up a little, there is probably good training. I'm not saying it's the ideal way to get started in the industry and I'm not sure there is one "ideal way" but it's a far better road than UGA.

Aflac...UGA - it's like choosing whether or not you want to get hit by a train or bus.

I disagree, John. AFLAC doesn't do too much for their agents, but will teach B2B, yet they're not leaving families financially devastated and bankrupt the way some have experienced with UGA.

I have yet to meet another insurance company that truly deserves to be lumped in with UGA.

In MD the only thing Aflac's gonna teach you is how to be the 28th rep to talk into a business and get a stapler thrown at you. Look up "flooded" in the dictionary.

True. Oversaturation is a very legitimate criticism of AFLAC. That being said, I've heard agents that get out into the rurals areas have much greater positive response, but that doesn't work for everyone's situation.

Now, you want to talk danger...getting hit by the stapler when your health coverage is through MEGA. :D
