Need a Colonial Penn Quote

I don't believe anyone here is contracted with them because I believe they are 100% in-house. Best thing to do would be to call them.

Knocked on a door this weekend, he saw the lead card and said "Oh yeah, I've already taken out a policy, Colonial Penn, we're very happy with it"

I explained they were a 2 year wait, and about double the price of what I can get him.

"That's OK, I'm very happy with it"

So I pulled out my ColPenn rate sheet, and one of my company's rate sheets, compared them side to side...I said "See you're only getting half the coverage you could get"
(he and his wife on the ColPenn $79mo plan!!)

And also showed him on the ColPen flier about the "limited benefit first two years"...he said "No, ours goes into full effect on the first day"

He said he'd called in and asked for a rep to come out and go over his policy, "that man didn't tell me about any 2 year waiting period" .... you don't say...

good grief...what was it again, that ya can't fix??
just blows my mind to loose almost $2k in premium that way.
all at the door, couldn't even get inside.

First mistake never sell at the door. One thing you could try is "has anyone been by to show you how to get free insurance" then proceed to show him once your in the door.

The only thing that can overcome stupid is to develop trust. Hard to develop trust when you show them how stupid they are up front. IMO.

Way, way too confrontational. Way too quick too, you're just throwin' up all over 'em! You might win the argument, but lose the case - as you found.

Better strategy: "If you found out you were paying double what you should be, how would you feel about that? If you found out that your policy had a two year waiting period, how would that effect your thinking?"

Yeah an compliment them on their decision. "Yeah CP is a great company, I love Alex trebeck."
