Thanks in advance for reading this thread. For the past few weeks I've been on this forum like a spounge, soaking up as much info as I can. There is a lot here and its just outstanding. I do have a request though, I'm located in Davenport, IA and was wondering if there is an agent nearby that could help me out. I'm looking for someone who can show how they organize they're home office, what products they use to help, what they're daily routine is ect...

I'm not a hot young chick so I'm sorry, but I might be able to bring one:D

Thanks

You don't have to have someone local to tell you how to set up your office.

All you need is a desk, computer, phone and a lot of paper.

Everyday decide who your target market is. Decide on who you are going to go after.

Example, Today I'm targeting a list of Repo Men that I have. I'm hoping that if I call 100 of them, that I will at least sell 1 policy. I think it is worth my time , to find a list, call the list and then spend my time calling them.

Tomorrow, I might decide to try something else. I might come up with some extra money to do a mailing.

Saturday Morning, I might go to the walking track and hand out cold water bottles for 1 hour.

You have to plan out your week. Keep busy doing something. I don't care what that something is. It is all about finding your niche. Find people that have a problem that you can fix.

I always try and keep a list of prospects that I want to go after.

You are your own boss. You can always find something to do or try to help you with your business.

Sorry no "extra" M16 lying around, in the pic I'm holding the one and only M249, AKA the S.A.W. In the desert you didn't want to be less than 500 yrds from me and a bad guy, while I had that thing.

I'm getting my L&H license so as far as what kind of insurance, the door is wide open.

Thanks for your input guys, its great to have a place like this to get ideas and info from the inurance veterans.

With all you guys have done for us so we can sit around in safety in our underwear and sell insurance and post here, if you want to work in the senior market give me a call. I just may have a deal you "can't refuse". 573.544.4091

A S.A.W. is just too damn heavy to take on appointments. :D

Dustin, have you considered Modern Woodmen? They're just across the Centennial Bridge from you in Rock Island. Their fraternalism doesn't play well in every part of the country, but in your area they're golden. They're as big where you are as John Deere over in Moline.

Personally, I'm not a fan of selling what everyone else is selling. I don't want to be the fifth rep to call on someone for the exact same product today. Is Iowa a PPGA or career state for Ohio National? They might be worth giving a call.
