Need Help Placing

Why on earth would you recommend GI for her? And if she needed GI she could certainly do better than Kemper.

From all that posted in this thread I would look at Americo.

Thanks JD, what would her price be with Americo.

IF she needs GI, it's an option. If she's been turned down for not meeting the diabetic criteria, it's a carrier that would take her. Didn't say it was as good as getting preferred underwriting. GI is never cheap, but provides some coverage if they can't qualify anywhere else.

I'm not familiar with Americo's underwriting or pricing. How do they word the diabetic questions, and what would the premium be?

Americo's GI is terribly priced. I'm talking about immediate coverage.

If you are going to to recruit and spam the forum then you should learn about the products out there.

$103/mo for $20,000 face on UP1, that's the immediate benefit. That's also non smoker rate.

Will she be accepted for UP1,? just lookd over questions on app. on part 2.2, they ask if she takes insulin, for diabetes diagnosed before age 50, the answer is yes.

Your Americo app must be different than the ones I have for Ky and In. Nowhere on my Americo applications does it ask about insulin before age 50. Or before any age.

Mine doesn't either, and I'm in California. My agent guide is for Policy Series 281/282/283/284 with a copyright date of 03/12. The agent guide above is copyright 05/09. Maybe it's a NY thing? My UP app is copyright 01/13. UP II is a 2-year graded db.

Question 2.2 for me asks,"In the past 3 yrs has the Proposed Insured experienced complications of diabetes including: amputation, eye or kidney problems, insulin shock, or diabetic coma? Y/N"

Question 1.7 asks about "...taken medication for diabetes in combination with..." but no mention of specific amounts or age.

Does everyone understand that everything about a policy may differ from state to state?

Asking for help on this national forum will never provide you any more than a direction unless the responder is in the exact same state.

If your looking for advice specifically focused on your states calling your up line might be a better tactic - assuming they are good at what they do. Let them earn their override - they'll probably thank you for asking them.

Can you give an example of an application with the same company being different by states?

Sure John,

A great example is right here on this thread with the Americo Ultra Protector.

The applications you are using in Indiana and Kentucky have, according to the different comments from around the country, different age stipulations for diabetes from what you are working with.

So the advice that you gave about using the UP 1, apparently didn't make sense to the poster, not because what you advised was wrong, but because the underwriting rules and the applications were different from what you use in the markets you are working in.

We see this in other ways. That's why, for example, when I called into 5 Star and Lafayette for PHI's the other day, they asked for the application code to make sure we're all working from the version that has been authorized by that specific state insurance department.
