Negrete/Heley V. Allianz

Is it me or does Allianz have a ton of negative publicity lately. Just saying!

As of 2013 or 2012 (can't remember which at the moment) they are the largest life insurer in the world. Huge annuity presence here in the States with lots of policyholders. They were bound to end up with bad sales somewhere along the way.

They are paying $251 million to settle. In 2013 they brought in just under $8.3 billion from annuity sales alone (not counting the NY subsidiary).

While they were certainly in the wrong, it's a minor piece of their entire operation. Those who choose to ignore this, will often lead themselves to bad conclusions if Allianz has a product offering that is truly useful to them and they opt against it due to this lawsuit.

To give credit where credit is due 2014 would be an indicator that they're just fine. As of the end of the 3rd quarter in 2014 they already had $9.68 Billion put through in annuities. The next closest was $3.295 Billion with SBL.

4th quarter numbers aren't officially out but they did over $12 freakin Billion last year peeps. Believe me, this lawsuit is not affecting their business.
