Never before and I hope never again

I visited a client not too long ago. Her car was there, but she didn't answer. I came back the next day, same thing. As I was leaving, a neighbor stopped me. He told me that he saw my car there the day before, soon after the found the woman in the back yard unconscious. The police were looking for a person fitting my description as they suspected foul play, by me perhaps.

I called the local police, turns out the woman had a stroke. I often will walk in the backyard if the car is there and no one answers. In this instance the backyard was wooded so I didn't.
I sold a woman a Med Supp years ago, and she told me how she got a Bankers Life agent to quit the business. He was trying to high pressure her into buying, and she had a heart attack and went to the hospital. That scared him him so much that he called her and told her he got out of the business. :twitchy:

One time I mailed a bunch of cancer plan pre approach letters out. Got a letter back chewing me out about how the guy's wife died of cancer and I was a horrible human and terrible and all that stuff. And how I needed to go jump in a lake or something.

The word "Cancer" is very emotionally charged word... but it also leads to a wonderful way to open the conversation with total strangers... they will listen usually.

I wouldn't jump in lake, I would mail some more prospects...

I had a lady I met on 2/15/18. She was 56 and quite heavy. she was on quite a few meds but I thought I could get her approved level. She agreed to buy on the best case worst case scenario that I frequently use when not sure what they will get.

I explained to her the policy started when the first payment was made. She stated she would not have the money until the 28th. I tried two more times about getting the first payment on approval. She refused. I was able to get her approved level. I called her back and again hit her up on drafting asap, to which she declined.

I got a call from her daughter on the 25th stating she had died.

nothing personal but i can give you a worst case.As a agent of the old commonwealth of missouri sp had a person that I wasn't able to convince to buy. She stood me up at least 6 times but i had her both of her neighbors i had to collect every month. She called me and said she was ready to buy. Her neighbor called me at the office before I left out of the office and asked me if i had heard this ladies child had been missing. He got killed 2 days earlier but the body hadn't been found yet. Running the debit in cincy I have plenty of stories about situations like this.
