No they can't. Hopefully the OP knows who to tune out and who to listen to.
I'd assume he's referring to response rates when looking for what zips to mail within a particular region. Are you under the impression that an imo would know better than people that sell leads and do nothing else? Chris has always been spot on and I've worked multiple states. Everyone knows you're here to pimp fex.
Any opinion of why Chicago/Illinois isn't discussed much? Is it not a good FE area? Not saying people aren't doing well, just curious why there isn't much representation here?
I read some threads where one agent mentioned having trouble in Chicago but was successful in other areas.
Seems like Lincoln Heritage and Adam Hale are the main deal according to Chicago Craigslist Ads
Also, JD is right, you are better off getting an idea from IMO's than lead companies. Their goal is to sell leads, therefore, all their leads are "good". Lol. An IMO is financially motivated to have you successful, and therefore may have better insight into good/bad zips.
Depends on the lead company. Some will be honest, some won't. As for the honest ones, they have hundreds of thousands of return records to look at to give you an idea of a response rate for a particular zip code. Does an imo? At best, they'll be a middle man when it comes to lead questions. The lead company I deal with has never overstated returns or quality of lead piece, but plenty of others have every time. Likewise I'm sure there's plenty of imo's that will rip off an agent, and others will be fine.
Interesting how way off you are on this subject of what is important, when it comes to mailing.
Returns are not nearly as important as having leads in the right zip codes!
Try mailing Naples Florida. You will get great returns and end up in front of the entirely wrong market. Never had a lead company tell me something like this and yet I know this to be a fact. A good lead company will only tell me about the returns and not if that area is any good for selling final expense.
This is where a good IMO comes in. A good IMO will go through the data and pull out the zip codes an agent wants to avoid, increasing the agent's chances for success before they even get the mail out. Most IMO's won't do this but I do it for each of my guys and gals.
FYI, call Chris at TLC. He has leads in Naples that he got stuck with after an agent did a fixed cost lead order. Had I been that agent's up line, I would have told her to avoid that area entirely as YES, there are tons of retirees but they are the type of people that have an actual planned retirement...
Naples has great returns? How do you end up in the wrong market? You have to filter for income, which I'd imagine would knock out most of affluent Naples. Chris would definitely give an accurate assessment of how many under 50/40k incomes there will be to target in that area and what to expect. The leads that do come back after the filter would be just as good as any other (what are their options?), just like there's the few people with plenty of liquid assets living in a low income area. But I'm pretty sure you sell fixed leads as party of your package so I know your opinion.
