New Agent Not Well Connected

The only thing I don't have enough of right now is a little bit of money for some marketing to get started. What do you guys think the minimum amount somebody would need to spend on marketing when first starting out?
 
from your experience what is the best life insurance product offered on the market?

is NY life price corresponding to its quality?

I really feel like it just depends on how hard you want to hit it when start out. If you are willing to start out kind of slow and cycle money back in then you can get away with less up front capital. If you want to hit it hard and make big money quick, then you need to spend money to make money.

The IMO I am connected has agents that have started off with $350-400, and worked their way up to closing 5-7 deals a week. While there are also agents who have come in and put $2,000 into marketing and are also doing really well.

Do you find that using the newspaper for prospects leads to a lot of people that have already been contacted by a lot of agents?

I honestly have not tried that route, so I cannot say. I was never really fond of cold calling through the phone book or newspaper as it figured it would net a narrow closing ratio. I am comfortable paying for leads so that is the way I am going right now
