New Member Intro -- Production Goals

Hi all,

I am a commercial insurance producer from Kansas City, MO. I spent 6 years on the captive side and made the transition recently to the independent side focusing on commercial insurance. My biggest questions for experienced producers is what expectations I should have from a production stand point. Obviously, my company has metrics established for us, but I have more ambitious goals than that. What would be good benchmarks for revenue in the first 12, 24, 36 months for a new producer? I understand there are variable and nuances to this, please leave those out and speak from either personal experience or in generalities. Any insight would be valuable.

Thank you all and I look forward to being apart of the community.

Welcome to the forums! I work for one of the big agencies, generally, they want producers generating at least $60K a month in new premium, so $6 - $9K / month revenue, but some producers do upwards of $500K a month in new premium.

In smaller agencies, I've seen producers happy doing 8-10k/month in new premium while being more involved managing their book of business.

It varies widely.
