Hi guys,
I passed my Texas general line P&C exam last week and I'm in the process of receiving my license soon.
I've been calling around locally for any independent agency to see if they are hiring, but most of them aren't.
I found this company called Pacific Crest (pcwm.com) who I think is an IMO and they are willing to accept me.
The person I talked to gave me the rundown of it. The commission starts off at 70/30, then I can advance to 80/20 and 90/10 depending on my production.
There is a monthly fee of $113 for company web tools including quoting program and $45 for E&O adding up to $158 a month. Also there is a $650 initial setup fee which will include training and setup.
My concern is if that will be enough for me who has no experience in the insurance field at all to start like this. The company's HQ is out of state and the closest office is in Houston. Although, training will be provided via conference online.
Any suggestion on how I should approach this? And is the contract a fair deal for a new agent?
