Just an FYI, Travelers is offering free new producer training to its affiliated producers. Locations throughout the US. Free is always good. plus the pre-course work gives access to Kaplan and lots of free CE credit courses.

Thanks for the info. Seems like the carriers are putting some money and effort into training their sales force. They must be somewhat dissapointed with the caliber of the average insurance agent out there. I have received several offers recently for various producer schools and training above just the normal product pushing. Golden Eagle (part of Liberty Mutual) even gave us a few certificates for free CIC classes. That is a $ignificant gift and it was much appreciated.

If you are a sub producer for a wholesaler that offers Travelers are we eligible? Who do we contact? Where do we get more info?

I'm not sure if this is what rob was refering to. But I logged into the agent HQ and typed in training in the saerch box. the third link is titled education and training. For us SoCal folks, I see two in Anaheim. One on 8/24 and the other on 9/16.
On a sidenote, I just enrolled in a Hartford webinar for next week. Anyone gone through one of these yet?
I would like to see these companies offer more free training. It can only benefit them to have better educated agents out there.

Although many carriers offer webinars and conference calls, I haven't seen any other offer free new producer training. Seems like a great way to get new producers started.
As for getting involved, if you sub under a wholesaler you might be out of luck. We are subs as part of the Iroquois group. But that is a little different than i think you meant.
