New Product for Group Health Cases!!

Please explain why someone who has insurance, including a HDHP, needs your product.

I actually watched the video, I don't know about anyone else. I saw some value there for some people. I don't really think it is a product someone needs, more of a product someone may consider useful.

I don't want to compare it to Pre Paid Legal but it is similar in my mind but obviously for medical service not legal ones. In the past and I still think it to be true, an affluent person can just pick up the phone and get a doctor on the phone or one to call them back. I have seen this happen first hand. A buddy of mine has a son who cut himself not bad at all but when at the hospital he asked for a plastic surgeon. They just kinda looked at him like he is nuts. Well he then demanded one because he has the best insurance money can buy and then proceeded to whip out his AMEX Black Card and said "no matter what it costs, I want a plastic surgeon here now". He and that surgeon are good friends today. If my buddy needs a doc, all he has to do is call the plastic surgeon and he'll have one on the phone for him even if it costs him.

This service gives anyone the ability to do the same thing (sorta) without having a 'connection' to a doctor (if I understand it correctly). When you call your membership number, the people on the other end of the phone know why you are calling, because you signed up for a service. Call the hospital or ask a nurse and they owe you nothing because they are not getting paid nor are prepared to do phone consults.

I don't have a dog in this fight just stating what my view of the product is. You don't and actually won't know how well it works unless you have the membership. What works for some and what some find value in, others don't. The old saying, some will, some won't, NEXT. :twitchy:

I would further add that this is not a product like insurance. As insurance agents, we don't want someone to use it unless they have to. With this product, you encourage the prospect to use it. That is why they have the membership. That's how I did Pre Paid Legal back in the day. The reason being is because if they don't use it, they will cancel it. If they have a question, don't go and Google it or ask your buddy who is a paralegal or nurse, call the number.

This service is not new and has been around for quite a few years. It is available at other sources also.

I went to the website and did not see an "employee benefit" option for enrollment, only an option to enroll as an individual. If this is the case, this is a very expensive option for a group.

Remember, most of the calls that someone will make can easily be made to their own doctorl.

.it is NOT a nurse hotline

So we are to believe neurosurgeons and cardiologists are standing by to answer at a moments notice.

Right . . .

You don't and actually won't know how well it works unless you have the membership.

Sounds like the stories I was told the last time I bought a car.

"With the extended warranty you never have to worry about paying for anything. I bought one with my car and the first year I got a new DVD player ($1200) and it didn't cost me a thing".

Sorry, but I never have seen the value in these plans to anyone other than the agent pushing them.

The product generically has been around a while in CA and AZ but is going national now with hard roll out in September. There are also other programs who have differing versions of telemedicine plans. If you care to ask I'd be happy to explain how the group signup works and it is easy and low cost and profitable for the placing agent, beneficial for plan sponsors and lower cost for group participants. The product was initially designed for individual subscription but a group of well placed life/health agents are leading the way for HN management to develop the group market. And no, podiatrists, neurosurgeons, etc. will not be answering the calls but fully NCQA certified, U.S. based and licensed primary care physicians in all 50 states are ready willing and able to answer member calls and deal with medical issues. Give me a call if you want and I can provide a tour of the Health Nation Connect system and give you access to the demo system and hear some demo calls if you have any interest. If no interest, why spend so much time dissing what you don't know?

You are kidding right! Ask your wife what happened the last time she called the doctor when one of the kids was sick. Tell me how his answering service solved the problem for her. Better yet, how did that work when you were on vacation at the beach and one of the kids is throwing up and running a fever 500 miles from home. This plan deals with just that access problem. For $30 a month you can call in and be called back by a primary care doctor in the State you are in, (home or away) and get a consultation, diagnosis and a prescription called to the local pharmacy if the doctor deems it necessary. If you sell groups you can't miss seeing the value here. I can assure you your clients will.

I can do an electronic appointment with my doctor for a negotiated rate of $35. I email him what is going on, he makes a recommendation. Can even write a prescription or order an exam for me. Sure beats the $150 to go see him F2F to do the same thing.

I would rather pay the $35 to my personal doctor on an as needed basis rather than a $30 monthly subscription to a doctor that does not know my medical history. If I have something more serious that requires immediate attention, I already know what it is and will visit the Minute Clinic or I don't know what it is and I'm headed to urgent care. I also may be able to just call my doctor as noted above. I also have the 24 hour nurse line available if desired.

Where would this service give me an advantage over those dicussed above?

The advantages are many but perhaps you have a strong relationship and you'd rather trust your doc will always be there. Maybe you don't need it, but what if you are on vacation out of state. Your doc can't legally and won't call in a script out of state. What about your kid at college? Exam week and he doesn't have the time to sit at student health all day. This works! Does your doc work 24/7/365? This service does. I know you're a natural skeptic and wont believe anything but just an example...I sold this to the internal medicine practice where I am a patient for their nursing and office staff. They understood it and loved the concept. It saves their people time. By the way a member can upload any or all of his medical records and it is available online as part of the service. The teledoc has access to the records.

Dave, Dave, Dave, did you even try to read the rules when you signed up?

Are you just a stalker buddy?? Are you locked in a basement somewhere?? Maybe you should stick to hawking your scam lead lists and leave me alone. I have read the rules bud and I don't think I have broken them and I'm not scamming anybody.
