New Product for Group Health Cases!!

I agree with this assessment of telemedicine. Where I don't agree, and where I believe most of the kickback is coming from, is when it is positioned as an employee benefit or some kind of claim cost reduction strategy.

The telemedicine prgogram you have does not provide any meaningful reduction to claims. And with the significant monthly cost, the market for employer sponsorhip is minimal at best.

leevena: I don't want to argue and I promise this will be the last respose on this point but...The cost (when subscribed as part of a group) is $30 per month period...hardly a significnat cost in the world of healthcare and insurance plans. The employer cost to initially register is $199 or $299 and then their only cost is payroll deduction. This is not a hard sponsorship to sell. Best,

David, you're not making any sense.

If one of your arguments is that the group will save money by using this product, but it's $360/year (even ignoring the registration fee), you're never going to make up for that in utilization PLUS it's a guaranteed plan. If they're fully insured they're not going to care and if they're self-funded that type of a product helps negate the whole point of going self-funded. $30/month per employee/employee family is a big deal when you're using the utilization argument. If the group has that money laying around they could use it to add a vision benefit if they don't already have one or add/enhance other benefits which would make a more attractive benefits package instead of talking about a teladoc (especially when, although they're different products, many carriers offer a nurse hotline to help with the same type of "I rolled my ankle, should I go to the ER" type questions).

I'm not saying this just because I don't respect you as a professional or because I think that you're insulting all of us by the way that you're using this forum to pimp your product, but what you're talking about just doesn't make a lot of sense based on the arguments you're using and real math. What I find particularly puzzling about this is your claim that you've been "creating, managing, selling insurance products for over 40 years", yet you don't think $30/month is much on a health plan perk AND that you're claiming the utilization is a reasonable argument to justify the money. I have been involved in Medicare Advantage plan designs (which are different) and even with old people $30pmpm (per member per month) can make a big difference. Now $30/month covers the whole family (if I understand correctly), but even at that, we're talkin $10pmpm? $15? $20? Not to mention that absent "family" (on person or otherwise) would have to not only go to the doctors at least 2 or 3 times/year, but decide to use teledoc for those 2-3 visits which would have otherwise been at their primary in order to even hit the break even point on premium vs. savings.

That all being said, I could be 100% wrong about this. If you'd like to pull out your calculator and walk us through the cost savings that would make this a no-brainer, we're all interested.

Disagree. $30 pepm is a very significant cost. Most of the admin charges for the self-funded groups we have are in the $50 range. If this product was as valuable as you believe, you (personally) should be selling the daylights out of it and there would be line of brokers 5 miles long waiting to sell it.

Sorry...you could not get the information you wanted however I found that on this forum that whatever is said is turned against you by the trolls. Anyone really interested will look into it or contact me and I'll be happy to share fully....but not on here where it is impossible to have honest discussions..
Best,
David

We "Trolls" as you call us may be attacking you because you believed you where above the rules...This thread should have been in the offers section. You need a minimum of 100 posts to place posts in the offers section...Other than your spam on your product what value have you provided this forum?

Here's the way I see it. This guy could of came on here offering free gold bars and wouldn't stand a chance because he broke the rules. Now whether he did intentionally or not, rules are rules and everyone should abide by them, that's why we have them not?
If you have an interest in what he has then call the guy. It isn't that hard to pick up a phone or is it? Why waste time trying to pick apart his product unless one has other motives? If you are skeptical then call the guy. You will find out via a phone call what's up. You aren't gonna do it here.
If someone like a mod wants to delete his thread then they should.
In the meantime, I suggest this guy take his years of experience and contribute like Peter suggests or walk away. Right now he is a troll and nothing more until he proves otherwise. I had some questions and I asked him with my posts. Stop feeding the troll. Either give the guy a call if you are interested or as judge Perry says, GET BACK TO BIDNESS PEOPLE! :twitchy:

What's your point David? Other than stating what has been long understood as the obvious.

So at what cost point would a program like this make sense? Would it be at the point where the anticipated savings to the employer and employee (in terms of saved insurance claims, increased productivity to the employer and decreased future premiums due to lower utilization) exceeded the cost of the program on a long-term basis? We are going to see more of these types of programs in the future as employer plans look to save money. I noticed that Assurant currently includes a telemedicine product with their major-med plans here in TX...while Assurant isn't a huge player in the major-med market, it's a start of things to come, I think.
