When Notre Dame students/graduates cheer someone who supports partial birth abortion or post birth infanticide then there is a serious problem. In case people do not know - Notre Dame is supposed to be a Catholic school and not a professional sports team franchise.

I wish these mindless children luck in the Hope & Change job market. This is going to make the Carter years look like a cakewalk.

The sad part is that this is not news...this information has been known for a long time maybe with a different date of insolvency but it has been known...They have done nothing but bandaids to the programs...My first step in any solution is the disolution of the Federal and State Pension systems that opt out of Social Security, If a private citizen can't opt out of social security why should federal and state workers and railroad employees...Think if congressmen and senators lost there pensions and where put back into social security that they may actaully do something to fix this?

Either that or let me keep my 15% fica self employment tax make me save it fine but let me keep it for my family not the government dole.

Since 1982 all new hire Federal Civil Service workers must be covered by Social Security, but they do have an investment plan that mimics a 401(k) plan. Those Federal workers in the retirement system prior to 1982 did not have to switch Social Security, but I believe (but am not certain) that could opt into SS.

Okay but railroad and some state pensions opt out of social security...How come the government can opt out of this ponzi scheme and the private sector can't.

Doesn't make it right...but what do you expect from the people that write sexual harrassment laws but exempt themselves from it...The people that enact a DNC regulation but allow political calls (and you can't tell me during election time that this is not worse than any type of telemarketing call including robodialing).
