Already an article in my local insurance publication in which a few carriers stated that likely comp would never return to pre-MLR levels even if repealed.

Who cares... insurance companies knifed us when they got the chance... our cut had nothing (or little) to do with MLR... thats why we as a group must stick the knife right back and dick them, there are ways to do that... overload their csr people, force your clients to call in for anything. treat them like s*** when you call.... and refuse to sell for carrier like BCBS tx and Aetna that pay below current market...

but from the good side most agents are quiting because they cant make it which is great... keep falling boys as i pick cotton like a south alabama slave

The numbers do not look good for agents selling healthcare in the future. You will need big volume to make $$; almost like fast food.No real service, next please. I will stick with selling life, for as long as I can.

The reduced comp is major but we really don't know the full impact of the MLR until next year.

I predict we will see large carriers getting out of the individual markets. Why would they take the risk?

If you want any level of control at all, you need to look at self-funding. This way the comp is out of the MLR regs and you can stick it to a carrier...by not writing their business.
