New York employers must provide paid medical leave for employees during pregnancy.

Pregnant New Yorkers are now entitled to a minimum of 20 hours of paid leave for prenatal medical appointments, following a law that took effect Wednesday. Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that this policy makes New York the first state to implement such measures.
