Newbie to Join the FE World

Met with Securus this weekend and was offered 60% and a 5% over ride on anyone else I brought in. Training would be done through webinars and other online training.

Good Lord that sucks. And I'm with Securus.

You're probably pigeon-holed at this point.

If interested, I can give the name and number of another RVP at Securus. But I've done that before, and they are all basically subject to who gets contact first.

I can give you a referral to a good manager at EFES if you're interested. Should be able to get in at 80% to 90% first year commission. Good face-to-face training, and stays in touch with his agents.

Thank you all very much for the honest comments and advice. I agree with all of you and that is why I politely shook his hand and thanked him for his time.

That being said I am still searching for an opportunity to earn the commission that I should be getting paid while also having a mentor/manager that is willing to show me the ropes.

It would be great to find someone local that would be willing to train me and let me ride along with him on a few presentations.

Thanks again!

Thank you Rearden, what state is he located in? I'm in New Jersey.

He's out of Atlanta. Would be worth your while if you could spend 3 or 4 days in the field with him.

That's really all you need to see how field sales for FE works.

He'd be more than happy to work with you I'm sure.

I'll PM you his contact information.

Thank you Rearden, I received your message but cannot respond because i dont have 20 posts. I would like to potentially go with Securus but not at that pay plan. You seem to be quite happy with them. It's to bad they are stuck in their ways regarding who contacted me first.

Just my two cents, but you are not really independent if "they" can tell you who to write for, where you can write or who to write under. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Giving up a few points of commission for good training in a very smart move. To many newbies come here wanting top contracts and think they can read their way through training. While the products are easy to understand. Prospecting, underwriting and sales skills can not be learned from scratch by reading a forum.

I just can't believe there are mother ***ers out there who will hustle such garbage, knowing the kind of **** they're shoveling stinks to high heaven.

The greed level is unbelievable.

Sadly it has always been that way. Primerica starts their "agents" at something like 25%. After, their "trainers" write their friends and family. Scumbags.

Well put! I agree that applies to many industries not just insurance. If you come up with a way for me to join Securus through another avenue please let me know.

Thanks so much for your help and advice.
