Anyone know of a good WP plugin for sending out select blog posts as a newsletter in an email blast?

It doesnt have to be a plugin if you have a better solution

I've recently started using a plugin to build the newsletter list and it feeds into mail chimp. You probably don't want to use a WP plugin to send email blasts because it's going to potentially cause other issues by using your web hosting as a mail server. The plugin I'm using is "hybrid connect". When folks sign up for the newsletter it handles the opt-in compliance and let's me either setup autoresponders or just use it as a mailing list to send email blasts. From there you can just copy and paste the posts you like to send out as the blast.

Im not sure. I will check it out.

Most of the mailchimp associated plugins I have looked at so far want me to do everything from my admin panel.

So are you telling me that you just manually copy and paste your posts over to mailchimp?
