Sons of Norway referred to its agents as Financial Benefit Counselors. From now on if you are contracted through an FMO you are considered an independent agent. Since I contracted direct I am considered an insurance professional. Not sure why they made that distinction because I am not affiliated with a lodge. I don't consider myself any more professional than most forum members.
